The Edinburgh Festival and Military Tattoo - Langdale Walking Holidays

Join us for the breathtaking spectacle that is the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Acclaimed by many as one of the greatest shows on earth, the Tattoo is a dazzling and compelling celebration of music, dance and drama. Set against the magnificent backdrop of Edinburgh Castle, the Tattoo is an amazing experience best enjoyed from our reserved seats facing the Castle entrance (below the Royal Box).

  • Welcome reception and dinner party

  • Enjoy the Tattoo from the best seats

  • 2 nights in the 4-star Principal Hotel

  • Guided walk through the City of Edinburgh

  • Experience the Fringe and Edinburgh International Festival

We are not only here for Tattoo as there is much to see in Edinburgh. The Festival Fringe attractions should not be missed and we have included a fascinating guided walk through the City of Edinburgh, discovering its cultural and historic delights, whilst exploring secret places known only to locals on our way. You have probably heard of A Tale of Two Cities, but in Edinburgh it’s more A Tale of Two Towns, with the contrasts of the medieval Old Town and the Georgian splendour
of the New Town, unsurprisingly it is now a World Heritage Site.

In your free time you can choose to explore Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, The Palace of Holyrood House (the official residence in Scotland of Her Majesty The Queen), Museum of Edinburgh and The Royal Yacht Britannia, to mention but a few.

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is the world’s largest arts festival, presenting thousands of performances in hundreds of different venues and promises an inspirational mix of theatre, comedy, music, dance and children’s entertainment in Scotland’s stunning capital city. Please look up The Fringe website for programme information.

Edinburgh International Festival will also be in full swing during our visit so you may want to take advantage of an extra night to fit everything in!

How Fit Do I Need to Be? Being a city tour, no specialist equipment is necessary, but a day out wandering among the hilly streets of Edinburgh will be fairly exerting.

What to Wear in Edinburgh: August in Edinburgh will be temperate, but we do advise packing some waterproof gear just in case.

Power Plugs and Sockets in the UK: Great Britain uses the British three-pin plug exclusively, travellers from overseas will need to bring an adaptor.
