Day 1: Friday 19 October – Travel to Grasmere

Meet in the lobby at 3:15pm for the short warm up walk around the village and Allan Bank, a grade two listed building, famous as once being the home of William Wordsworth. A perfect time to visit, being the 250th Anniversary of the birth of one of the world’s most celebrated poets. Allan Bank now hosts a strong hold of red squirrels and is a perfect opportunity to see the native species. The tour should last around 1 hour 30 minutes.

Welcome reception at 7:00pm.

Dinner and overnight at the Wordsworth Hotel.

Day 2: Saturday 20 October - Guided Walks

Full Cumbrian breakfast in the hotel. Please collect your picnic lunch from the hotel.
Please meet the group in the hotel lobby at 9:00am. Meet up with our guide, John Brooks, and decide on today’s walk.

John lives in the Lake District and has been part of the outdoors industry for over ten years. Making memories, nurturing talent and having adventures are the things that keep him ticking and make every day at work a pleasure. From an early start, John had been working as a coach for rock climbing and now spends his working time in the mountains of the English Lake District; he has been lucky enough to embark on international treks and Scottish winter mountaineering. John believes that everything is better outdoors for an individual’s development, self-learning and inspiration.

Optional dinner at a local restaurant and overnight at the Wordsworth Hotel.

Day 3: Sunday 21 October – Guided Walks

Full Cumbrian breakfast in the hotel. Please collect your picnic lunch from the hotel.

Please meet the group in the hotel lobby at 9:00am. From here, we’ll meet up with our guide for today’s walking programme.

Day 4: Monday 22 October – Departure

Grasmere is a village and tourist destination in Cumbria, England, in the centre of the Lake District. It takes its name from the adjacent lake. It has associations with the Lake Poets, one of whom, William Wordsworth, lived in Grasmere for 14 years and called it as "the loveliest spot that man hath ever found."
